The Tijilik Riwut Airport in Palangkaraya, Central Kalimantan, Indonesia underwent a major renovation project to improve the runway surface and increase its capacity to accommodate larger aircraft. The project involved the use of advanced construction equipment, including the DRF25-70C paver and DRA90 compactor.

The construction process was carried out with precision, using the DRF25-70C to lay down material on a 5.3-meter width, 2% slope, and 9cm thickness. This state-of-the-art paver ensured that the material was distributed evenly and at a consistent depth, allowing for a smooth and durable runway surface. To achieve the desired compaction, the DRA90 trailed behind the paver, expertly finishing the job. The compactor was able to achieve the necessary compaction levels, ensuring that the runway surface was not only smooth but also sturdy enough to withstand the weight of heavy aircraft.

The upgraded infrastructure is key to contributing to the growth and development of the airport and the surrounding region. The upgraded infrastructure will enable the airport to handle more traffic and attract more business opportunities, ultimately benefitting the local economy and the local community for years to come. It has created a solid foundation for Palangkaraya city, positioning the airport as a vital player in the region’s economic progress.
